From all over Greece people come to Karpenisi for its foods.

Known for its fresh mountain meats especially it's sausages called loukanika and lamp chops called padakia.

 It also has a wide variety of deep panned "pites" - yes mostly found in the bakeries (fournos) but sometimes at the traditional restaurants. 

There are many restaurants in Karpenisi yet try to find the ones in small villages outside of Karpenisi -- they will give you a true "experience" of the traditional dining.
